Blessed Imbolg
![]() |
Imbolg is often times also refered to as the Feast of Brigit. The Druids called this sacred holiday Oimelc, meaning "ewe's milk". Held on February 1st, it coincided with the birth of the new lambs and baby goats. |

Because Brigit was the High Mother Goddess of Ireland and so well loved She survived Christianity and became known as St. Brigit. Even today many Irish homes have a St. Brigit's cross for protection - made from rushes as in the old days. If you would like to try to make your own Brigits Cross here's a web site with instructions and diagrams. http://www.geocities.com/rainforest/vines/5863/cmethod1.html |
